SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

"Believe in yourself and all you want to be. Don't let what other people say or do make you frown. Laugh as much as possible. Let in the good times and get through the bad. The longer you practice the habit of working toward your dreams, the easier the journey will become. You were meant for great things. Always follow your dreams!"- Anonymous

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

"I believe in the sun, even when it's not shining. I believe in love, even when I am alone. I believe in God even when he is silent."- Anonymous

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

"I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become."- Carl Jung

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS

"It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. You will need to make healthy decisions. It requires sacrifice. You will need to push your body to it's max. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's worth it."- Unknown

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- SHOWING EMOTIONS IS A SIGN OF STRENGTH

"Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional. Let this be a sign that you've got a big heart and aren't afraid to let others see it. Showing your emotions is a sign of strength."

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- RELATIONSHIPS

"Some of the biggest challenges in relationships came from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something. They are trying to find someone who's going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take." - Anthony Robbins

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT- A LESSON LEARNED

"Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people."- Zig Ziglar

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

"Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can." -The Dalai Lama

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "WHAT MAKES YOU A BAD GIRL?"

So this week's thought of the week is going to a little bit different. I have to admit that this post is actually based on the hit Oxygen series, The Bad Girls Club. It's no secret that I'm a reality television junkie, and one of my guilty pleasures aside from reality tv is The Bad Girls Club , but season after season I get so tired of hearing the infamous words "You not a bad girl."  So I ask the question, what constitutes as being a bad girl? Better yet, I'll tell you what does not make you a bad girl. Being a bully, ganging up on one person, 3 or 4 girls jumping one person, picking on another, because you think they are weaker than you. Needing a posse to always cosign for you. (Bad girls can stand on their own). Constantly yelling, talker louder than/ over everyone else around you, because your bark is louder than your bite. Being ignorant, petty and disrespectful to others.  Putting my two cents in, season after season the fights...

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK "REFLECTION"

When was the last time you just took a step back and reflected on your life thus far? You may not currently be in the position where you would like yourself to be, which is okay because the road to success is not a straight and narrow path, it's more like a few arrows pointing in different directions or like this (see photos below for visualization). I'm not only speaking about one's personal gain/ success. I'm talking about when was the last time you reflected on your life and was thankful/ grateful for how far The Lord has brought you in life. I do not believe that we are in control of our own lives, we may think we are, but at the end of the day he has the final say in all things. So the next time you are reflecting, don't forget to give him the thanks and praises in which he deserves. Photos: I do not own any of the pictures used in this blog post.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "WHAT'S ONE EASY WAY TO WASTE YOUR LIFE?"

An easy way to waste your life is by not setting goals for yourself/ not following your dreams. I cannot understand how people can talk about their goals and aspirations in life, yet do nothing to achieve it. It's like some people feel as though things should either be given to them for free or come easy for them. Wrong! It especially upsets me when talented people just waste their time by being lazy, that's such a waste of a life/ talent. Seriously! Being lazy is the easiest way to waste your life/ your time.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "IS THE STATE/ COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN REALLY THE BEST FIT FOR YOU?"

I was born and raised in Trinidad. I've had my visa since the age of 5, so I always traveled back and forth between New York and Trinidad as my biological father lives in NY. I finally moved to the United States at the age of 10 with my mom, brother and stepdad where we settled in Delaware (to be closer to my stepdad's family). Delaware is the one in red. Growing up in Delaware, I always felt as though my personality/ who I am, was way to big to be "stuck" in such a small state as Delaware (as though I was a celebrity or something lol). Then, I went to school in NY where I attended Long Island University, which was in the heart of downtown Brooklyn and I absolutely loved it! I finally felt as though I was where I belonged. There was always so much to do unlike boring ass Delaware. After I graduated from LIU, I just bounced around working part-time gigs, since I was unable to find a fulltime job, but that didn't really matter to me, because I ...

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: IF YOU COULD SPEND A YEAR DOING ANYTHING, WHATWOULD IT BE?

Travel! I absolutely love to do/try new things. I'm very open to different cultures and learning more about them. I would love to learn different languages, I'm getting better at Spanish (took it for a total of 5 years, 3 years in high school and 2 in college), but I'm still not where I would like to be (which is fluent). I'm very interested in seeing different parts of the world. So, if I could spend a year doing anything, it would definitely be traveling.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK : "WHAT SMALL THING COULD YOU DO TO MAKE SOMEONE'S DAY BETTER?"

Smile! To me, not only is happiness contagious (queue Pharrell's "Happy"), smiling at someone can most definitely brighten their day, especially if they have been having a bad one. So, smile you never know who is falling in love with that million dollar smile of yours :). Sidebar: I decided to include Pharrell's "Happy," because no lie every time I hear it at work, I automatically feel happier (no lie)!

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT LIFE SO FAR?

I am still young, so I can't really say that I have lived a long time or say that I have this extensive amount of knowledge about life. However I can say this, in my 26 years of living, I have experienced a lot (not as bad  as some people have), but enough to say that I have taken every experience as a lesson learned and not a mistake. With that being said, I have learned from my past and moved on from each situation whatever it may have been with a new perspective. So, from my own experiences this is what I have learnt about life thus far. *I've learned that you should always put your trust in the Lord, no matter what just have faith. *Family over everything. (Blood is most definitely thicker than water). *Mother always knows best. (Why? Because most times she has been through the same situation and can give you great advice/ insight). *Things happen at the right time, not when you want it to happen. (Nothing happens befor...

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "WHAT IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE?"

I always ask God this question, especially when I'm feeling frustrated and when I feel as though nothing is going right. I always ask him to show me the route in which he will like me to take in life. I felt as though I was close to knowing, then I hit a road block and I feel as though I hit the road block because it was not the path in which HE intended for me, so I'm going to answer a series of questions so you guys can find out with me what is my actual purpose in life. Are you ready, because I am? 1. What do you love to do, that you would do even if you didn't get paid for it?   Social Work! I absolutely love to help people, that's my passion in life, it has always been since I was a little girl. And I want a career where I can help people, because at the end of the day, seeing a smile on someone else's face will make me happy.   2. What do other people say you're good at?   People tell me that I'm good at giving advice, listening a...

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: DO YOU THINK CRYING IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS OR STRENGTH?

In my opinion, I do believe that crying is a sign of strength. Here's why, I know once I've had a great crying session after having a build up of stuff, I always feel a lot better. Its only a sign  of weakness if you cry and give up. Crying through the hard times and not giving up is the ultimate sign of strength. Because once you overcome whatever obstacle/challenge that's currently in your way, you will feel a lot better knowing that you cried it out, yet never gave up. And best of all, you overcame your obstacle.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: CHRISTMAS

Christmas is a very special day, not only is it the birth of Jesus Christ, it's also my favorite holiday. For me, Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions. F amily is very important and to me the holidays symbolize spending time with family,  i t doesn't matter where, just as long as we are all together. Since my family and I are from Trinidad, it's especially harder because we hardly get to see the whole family, however we  include our culture/ family traditions  in our holiday festivities. What are some of your family traditions? Such as baking a ham, making sorrel, making black cake and making ponche de creme( the Trinidadian spin on eggnog).  Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Be safe.  Ponche de creme Black cake/ Rum cake Sorrel. The leaves are picked off the tree, then it is boiled and cooled, before the final product is made. Baked Ham with Pineapple slices. I do not own any of these pictures. They we...

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "In order of importance, how would you rank; fame, happiness, money, love and health? Explain!"

1. In order of importance, I rank happiness first, because no matter what I always want to be happy.  2. Health is second for me because aside from my happiness, I need to be healthy. 3. Third is love. Love is a great thing, especially when you have someone u love and they love u back. Having someone there for you through thick and thin and vice versa.  4. Money is forth for me. I know I chose love over money. That's just me, I know love can't pay the bills. But, it's better to have love nd to have someone to share the money with. Than to not have love nd have no one to share anything with. 5. Last but not least is fame. I don't need fame. Once I have my happiness, health, love and money. I'll be just fine. So tell me in order of importance, how important are these things to u?
