I am what you call a Trini to di bone. Meaning, I love each and every aspect of my culture and I am very proud to be a Trinidadian. And while I love American Christmas carols, I absolutely love my soca parang as well. What is parang you ask? Parang is Christmas folk songs, it's a popular combination of soca, calypso, Latin and Venezuelan music.  Parang is also a huge part of my Trinidadian culture, as this is our version of Christmas carols.  So, for my ten favorite Christmas songs, I decided to split it with my five favorite Christmas carols as well as my five favorite parang songs. Ever since I was a little girl, I've claimed that this will be my wedding song. I'm such a hopeless romantic, but don't we all want to be in love and be loved? I know being hurt time after time by some asshole that didn't deserve you in the first place can definitely mess with you, making it very hard for you to open up and trust another. And once you eventually get pass the hurt and the pain, love can be a beautiful thing.  How do I know you ask? Well, because I have been there and I do know that getting your heartbroken is not fun, but believe me when I say, it does get better with time. Today is Christmas Eve! I cannot believe that it is that time of year once again. I hope everyone has gotten through with all they had to do. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year! In other words,  Feliz Navidad!

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. It's always been my favorite time of year since I was a little girl living in the Caribbean. It's especially hard to keep certain family holiday traditions alive, since we live in the states and the majority of my family still lives in Trinidad. Music is and always has been the one thing that always remind me of my childhood in Trinidad. So here is a list of my favorite holiday songs in no particular order.
