THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "WHAT IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE?"

I always ask God this question, especially when I'm feeling frustrated and when I feel as though nothing is going right. I always ask him to show me the route in which he will like me to take in life. I felt as though I was close to knowing, then I hit a road block and I feel as though I hit the road block because it was not the path in which HE intended for me, so I'm going to answer a series of questions so you guys can find out with me what is my actual purpose in life. Are you ready, because I am?

1. What do you love to do, that you would do even if you didn't get paid for it?

Social Work! I absolutely love to help people, that's my passion in life, it has always been since I was a little girl. And I want a career where I can help people, because at the end of the day, seeing a smile on someone else's face will make me happy.

2. What do other people say you're good at?

People tell me that I'm good at giving advice, listening and genuinely caring for/ about others. My family thinks I will be a great nurse. I'm caught in the middle with a career that I will love going to work everyday. And one where I know I will be set financially, yet at the same time I'll still be helping people, however it's not entirely where my passion lies. Then again, there are so many different aspects of nursing, so maybe it is exactly the field in which I belong.

3. What is the one thing you want to experience, or do, or accomplish, before you die, so that on your last day on earth you feel satisfied and have no regrets?

First and foremost, my main thing in life is to be happy! I just want to experience happiness. I want to accomplish all the goals in which God has put forth for me. When the time is right, HE will show me what those goals are. I just want to successfully accomplish them.

STERILE PROCESSING WEEK: INTERVIEW WITH STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIANS

First and foremost, I would like to wish all of my fellow Sterile Processing Technicians a happy SPD week, I know it's almost over but thank you for your service and all you do in the field of Sterile Processing. I would also like to thank all of my colleagues for taking the time out of their busy lives to participate in this interview making this post possible.  As Sterile Processing Week wraps up, I wanted to share a more in depth behind the scenes look into the life of a Sterile Processing Technician as well as what it is we do exactly. Sterile Processing one is the most important part of patient care. It is the critical step where surgical and medical devices, supplies and equipment are prepared, cleaned, prepped, processed, stored, and eventually issued to the main OR for patient care.  As  SPD technicians although we may sometimes feel as though we are often overlooked and/ or under appreciated, we take patient safety very seriously.
