Christmas is a very special day, not only is it the birth of Jesus Christ, it's also my favorite holiday. For me, Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions. F amily is very important and to me the holidays symbolize spending time with family,  i t doesn't matter where, just as long as we are all together. Since my family and I are from Trinidad, it's especially harder because we hardly get to see the whole family, however we  include our culture/ family traditions  in our holiday festivities. What are some of your family traditions? Such as baking a ham, making sorrel, making black cake and making ponche de creme( the Trinidadian spin on eggnog).  Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Today is Christmas Eve! I cannot believe that it is that time of year once again. I hope everyone has gotten through with all they had to do. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year! In other words,  Feliz Navidad!

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. It's always been my favorite time of year since I was a little girl living in the Caribbean. It's especially hard to keep certain family holiday traditions alive, since we live in the states and the majority of my family still lives in Trinidad. Music is and always has been the one thing that always remind me of my childhood in Trinidad. So here is a list of my favorite holiday songs in no particular order. Okay so I know I am a day late to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, so I'm doing it now.. I spent it in Long Island with my family and close friends.. I'm going to add pics from my Christmas once I upload it onto my computer.. Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas.. 

For this week's Throwback Tuesday, I also wanted to do another soca parang.. Soca Santa is one of my favorite songs. Hope you all enjoy a little bit more of my culture.. 

The only person missing is Kris.. Just kidding.. This is a nice family portrait, however it doesn't exactly scream Christmas to me.. It's very different, but in a good way..   Kendall and Kylie are growing into beautiful young women.. And Rob is looking good as usual.. Mason is growing up to be such a cutie.. 

So, like I announced earlier this month, for the rest of the month of December each and every Tuesday, I am gonna feature a Christmas song for the throwback Tuesday segment.. So, this week is no exception, however I am going to be doing these a little different..  As I mentioned in one of my posts, I am Trinidadian and in Trinidad one of the major things in which we do around Christmas time is Parang..  Parang is a music with Caribbean and Latin American cultural influences. The word is derived from two Spanish words:  Parranda , meaning "a spree or fete" and  Parar  meaning "to stop".  Parang is a popular folk music originating out of Trinidad and Tobago, it is part of the Island's Hispanic heritage that originated from over 400 years ago during Spanish rule via Venezuela..  The song entitled "Trini Christmas," basically explains how Trinidadians celebrate Christmas..
