One year, my family and I traveled to Trinidad the day after Christmas(Boxing Day), and just one day made a big difference in terms of the amount of people traveling. I'd definitely do that again, but traveling a few days before a big holiday is a no no. When I lived in New York, I used to travel a lot during the holidays, which were always a nightmare.
