MY WEEKEND IN NEW YORK

So last weekend I made a trip up to New York to go to a Halloween party as well as to hang out with my right hand chica. This year for Halloween I was a peacock, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to be and I kept going back and forth on my decision until I decided to go to Partycity and look at the costumes myself.

My Costume:

My Makeup:
Face:
•Matchmaster Foundation 7.5 (Mac)
Eyes:
Eye Enhancers Fusion Tropical Palette (Covergirl)- I blended the colors on my eyes.
•Liquid Eyeliner- Carbon black (Eyeko)
•3 in 1 Mascara- Very black (Elf)
Lips:
Lady Danger (Mac)
•Lip liner- Brick (Mac)
•Lip gloss- Gloss Miroir (Sephora)

Friday:
So Friday night (Halloween) we were originally supposed to go to Taj II, however not only were we quoted a different admission price at the door ($40), the lines were also ridiculously long (mind you, it was freezing and pouring rain in NY). So, Alisha and I decided to go to 230 Fifth instead. 230 Fifth is a rooftop lounge, which I used to frequent when I lived in NY. The price at the door was $24 which included a voucher for two drinks. It was really nice and we had a lot of fun, rain and all lol.

Saturday:
We headed downtown Brooklyn to do some light shopping at one of my favorite stores, Brooklyn Ladies. I absolutely love this store, their clothing selection is very nice and I always go crazy when I'm there lol.

I also had to give a shoutout to my old stomping ground, Long Island University. The photo below is of the main building. So many memories!

It was so cold and rainy in NY that weekend, I had to use my scarf as a hoodie because I did not want to get sick lol.

Saturday night:
I couldn't wait to get to New York, because I had been craving my favorite place, Dallas BBQ. In my opinion, they have some of the best drinks in the city. They have a few locations all over the boroughs, except Staten Island.

I got a Strawberry/ Mango Daquiri and Alisha got a Piña Colada.

                      Part of the menu

The drinks were on point as usual, however I was not at all please with the presentation of the food. No lie, my food came out looking very unattractive. I got the ribs, shrimp and steak combo with French fries. And the only thing I saw when my plate came out was fries, I couldn't see anything else on the plate, because the fries took over the entire plate.

Overall, the experience wasn't horrible, but I guess for me because it was my favorite place to go, I was a little disappointed by the food presentation, but everything else was nice and I was happy to see that the menu even changed and now included more selections of drinks as well as starters.

Hope you guys have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

STERILE PROCESSING WEEK: INTERVIEW WITH STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIANS

First and foremost, I would like to wish all of my fellow Sterile Processing Technicians a happy SPD week, I know it's almost over but thank you for your service and all you do in the field of Sterile Processing. I would also like to thank all of my colleagues for taking the time out of their busy lives to participate in this interview making this post possible.  As Sterile Processing Week wraps up, I wanted to share a more in depth behind the scenes look into the life of a Sterile Processing Technician as well as what it is we do exactly. Sterile Processing one is the most important part of patient care. It is the critical step where surgical and medical devices, supplies and equipment are prepared, cleaned, prepped, processed, stored, and eventually issued to the main OR for patient care.  As  SPD technicians although we may sometimes feel as though we are often overlooked and/ or under appreciated, we take patient safety very seriously. This week's eye candy is none other than Mr. Terrance J himself. I feel as though I've watched as his career blossomed, from being the host of 106 and park, along side Rosci.
