THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: "IS THE STATE/ COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN REALLY THE BEST FIT FOR YOU?"

I was born and raised in Trinidad. I've had my visa since the age of 5, so I always traveled back and forth between New York and Trinidad as my biological father lives in NY. I finally moved to the United States at the age of 10 with my mom, brother and stepdad where we settled in Delaware (to be closer to my stepdad's family). Delaware is the one in red. Growing up in Delaware, I always felt as though my personality/ who I am, was way to big to be "stuck" in such a small state as Delaware (as though I was a celebrity or something lol). Then, I went to school in NY where I attended Long Island University, which was in the heart of downtown Brooklyn and I absolutely loved it! I finally felt as though I was where I belonged. There was always so much to do unlike boring ass Delaware. After I graduated from LIU, I just bounced around working part-time gigs, since I was unable to find a fulltime job, but that didn't really matter to me, because I

THROWBACK TUESDAY: "GASOLINA"- DADDY YANKEE

I am a huge Daddy Yankee fan. And not to mention, he's total eye candy as well. I absolutely love the Hispanic culture, music, food, people, etc. My friends would always  joke with me and say I swear I'm half Hispanic lol. This song really takes me back to my NY/ party girl days (I'm saying that as though I'm old lol), because my friends and I always frequented the Spanish clubs and this was my absolute favorite song that just got me pumped up for the night ahead.

RIHANNA SPICES UP VOGUE BRASIL

Bad girl Riri looks amazing on the cover of the June 2014 issue of Vogue Brasil. The shoot which took place earlier this year was shot by Mariano Vivanco on site in Brasil. Rihanna was very anxious to share the photos with the Navy as she took to Instagram to share the flicks of the double cover. The issue will hit newsstands in May. Check out the rest from the Bajan beauty's pictorial.

*NEW MUSIC: ELLE VARNER- "F**K IT ALL"*

This track is definitely different from any other Elle Varner song that I have heard before. This is one of those songs that you will have playing on repeat at full blast. It's the perfect break-up song. So, when you are just tired and fed up of all the BS you just have to exhale, whoosah and "F**k It All."

EYE CANDY THURSDAY: ZAC EFRON

I completely forgot how hot Zac Efron really is. Well, that was until I saw the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Did anyone else see Rita Ora completely rip his shirt off on stage after he won "Best Shirtless Performance." (See below). Hope you guys enjoy this week's eye candy!

*NEW MUSIC: PHARRELL- MARILYN MONROE*

Today was actually the first time that I heard this song, and honestly I wasn't feeling it at first, but I got into it and I can honestly say that like it. I think it's gonna be a summer hit that will be blasting. The Marilyn Monroe video is diverse and features a cameo from Kelly Osbourne. Reason why I said that, Pharrell has been dealing with a lot of backlash and "colorism" controversies, due to the fact that critics believed his "Girl" cover lacked diversity (see below). I swear it's like no matter what you do, you cannot always please people. I feel as though people need to stop making color such a bigger issue than it has to be. We all hail from different ethnic backgrounds, so of course we do not all look alike, but that's what makes us all beautiful!

JHENE AIKO'S SEXY GQ SPREAD

I'm really starting to like Jhene a lot. I really like her style, she has an amazing voice and she is most definitely on the come up. The 26 year old, "Worst" singer admitted to GQ that not only can she sleep for 10 hours, but she also smokes weed at least twice a week in her spare time. Check out the rest from her seductive pictorial in the latest GQ issue.

*NEW MUSIC: TEYANA TAYLOR- SORRY*

I don't really know too much about Teyana Taylor. I do remember her from her episode of my super sweet 16 on MTV years ago (back when she was on Pharrell's music label). And of course from her feud with Rihanna, which led to her being dropped from her deal with Adidas. Now the 23 year old is the first lady of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music. Taylor can really sing if you guys haven't ever heard her blow before. Check it out and let me know what you think.     Teyana's episode of my super sweet 16.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: IF YOU COULD SPEND A YEAR DOING ANYTHING, WHATWOULD IT BE?

Travel! I absolutely love to do/try new things. I'm very open to different cultures and learning more about them. I would love to learn different languages, I'm getting better at Spanish (took it for a total of 5 years, 3 years in high school and 2 in college), but I'm still not where I would like to be (which is fluent). I'm very interested in seeing different parts of the world. So, if I could spend a year doing anything, it would definitely be traveling.

THROWBACK TUESDAY: "LOVE ME FOR ME"- ASHLEE SIMPSON

Believe it or not, Ashlee Simpson's "Autobiography" album was actually one of my favorite albums when I was in high school. She also had her own television show on MTV which I watched faithfully and as a result I anticipated the arrival of her album, because they always played snip it's of her songs.  Off the album, there are a few songs that I really like, but "Love me for me" has got to be my absolute favorite. Check it out!

Easter Blessing

I always stress how short life is and how grateful/ thankful you should be, because when you think you have it bad there is always someone out there that has it worse than you.  I just wanted to share this story with you guys. Easter Sunday, my family and I woke up to a banging on the door, it was the neighbor from the apartment below. He seemed frantic and a bit confused. And he was seeking assistance. Since I moved into my own place,  I usually do not sleep over at my parents place, but we had a family get together the night before for my dad's birthday, so I spent the night.  My dad went to assist the neighbor. And the next thing I know my dad was yelling at us to get out of the apartment. We didn't really know what was going on, but we could smell smoke.  Well, it turned out that a fire had broken out in the apartment below. Long story short, this was by far the scariest thing my family and I have been through. Thank God we were all able to get out of the apartm

THROWBACK TUESDAY: "OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU"- TAMIA

I absolutely loveeeeee this song! I love Tamia, I've been a fan of her music and her amazing voice. (We need a new album from you, Tamia :D). Officially Missing You is definitely one of those songs that brings back memories from past relationships, both good and bad. Just listen to the emotion in her voice, she was obviously missing someone very special.
